In partnership with local and statewide green and environmental organizations, LACM is expanding its role in environmental justice and climate resilience. We provide culturally relevant outreach and education on the “3 Rs”—recycling, reduction, and reuse—while engaging youth and families in hands-on learning that builds curiosity and leadership around environmental issues. Our younger generations are increasingly interested in topics such as air quality, watersheds, pollution, and climate impacts, and LACM is creating pathways for them to explore these areas more deeply. As this work grows, we aim to open new avenues for AAPI community members to participate in environmental solutions, contribute their lived experiences, and ensure their voices are heard in local and statewide conversations about sustainability and environmental health.
